CG Workshop: Positioning Character Moom
In this Maya tutorial refresher, I adapted a pre-existing character into five positions using photographic reference. This task was surprisingly challenging, taking more than 'copying' to re-create a pose; it also required an understanding of human mechanics. As I progressed through each pose however, my outcomes gained more fluidity, emphasising the key elements of a form and reflecting them onto more primitive biology, Moom. This workshop revised basic Maya skills developed in my first year of CAA and introduced more detailed concepts surrounding character design in the CG programme.
