Chicken Coop Scene #3

What are UV's?

A flat netted shape that is ready for textures. Using UV's will ultimately allow me to texturize my chicken coop scene. U and V are the two axis of the netting grid, indicated by the red and green lines in the images below.
The white outlines show the standard UV format of a selected shape.

Unfolding and straightening as well as tidying up each face results in this graph, a more organised map.

Finally, unfolding each face and fitting them into the first grid space.

Moving on to my chicken coop, I followed the same process and UV'd each of its faces.

The process of cutting and seaming edges together before unfolding.
I found this stage of the chicken coop scene a real challenge to follow along with. Until I understand the purpose of UV's by observing the whole process, I don't think I will fully understand. I am keen to see the final 3D modelled product.
