Life Drawing #6

Warm-up exercise, I can see an improvement in my use of line work. Becoming braver with exaggerations  for suggestion.

The scale of the head compared to the body is gradually levelling-out. A proportional issue I had previously had issues overcoming.

Switching to traditional pencil allows me to create shadows, giving my line work some mass.

I find side angles more complex to capture. I find that I work on a smaller scale when I struggle.

I was surprisingly happy with this exercise, which involved no line work, only shading. I was confidently able to capture muscle forms.

Mixing things up with the use of colour, a contrasting combination in this exercise. The green lines indicate the 'flow' of the position, the direction of the body.

This final exercise asked me to start with these arrows, and drawing over them. I was able to spend more time shading, and I ultimately worked on a larger area.
