Armilla Modelling Pipeline #1

I began modelling my hero prop by tackling the cylindrical layered tower, heavily inspired by the Bowellsim movement. The square objects were far easier to construct, simply bevelling a cube's edges and adding the spherical window detail.

The remaining towers are then added to the hero prop. By 'extruding' the edges of the marine tunnel hole, I was able to give the structure weight and thickness.

The structure began to take shape once all the main elements were in place...

Now moving on to details, including layering and accents such as the antenna.

I felt immense achievement at figuring out the modelling process for the structure's pipework, an object I had concerns about. By using the edge-loop tool, I was able to add new vertexes and manipulate them, changing the direction of a cylinder shape.

I decided to improve upon my orthographs by including more than two pipes, this gives the structure a more industrial and realistic appearance.

I then tackled the marine tunnel. I left the inside hollow, ensuring I can texture the outside as glass and import a 'fish scene' on the inside, giving it the impression that it is filled.

The details were now the remaining models to complete. This included the scaffolding around the cube tower, and the legs of the towers.

I am extremely happy with the amount of modelling I was able to achieve today. I was expecting this specific object to take far longer before reaching this stage. There are still alterations to be made, and I still need to tackle the 'collapse' issue when pressing 3 on the keyboard.
