Animation Structure
This session revised the idea of using key poses in order to create a successful animation sequence. Within a series of key poses are a few extreme poses, These poses reach the threshold of the overall movement. When extreme poses are in place, the structure of a sequence is solidified. To fill out an animation sequence, the extreme poses must be attached through a series of in-between poses. These help transition from one extreme pose to another. 2D animation fundamentals can be applied to 3D animation for realistic movement.
The images below demonstrate six key poses using the Moom character rig. These poses were created using a reference video. It was by job to replicate the real-life positions on Moom and create a coherent series of key poses.
