Texturing my Moon Model

 

The moon depicted in the final shots of my animatic and PreViz is very simple. In-keeping with this, I created a very simple moon model for my final Major animation. I used a seamless grainy texture colour map and a crater normal map to create the above render. The base model is a cube smoothed into a sphere. 



The UV's were a challenge to lay-out; the moon model will spin during my animation, seams are therefore unavoidable.
