This fifth matte painting will be seen during the dynamic 'spore release' scene in my Fantastic Voyage animation. To amplify the effect of fast movement, I reflected on the style research I conducted into graphic novels. I ultimately created an angular, emphasised image that incorporates the sharp linework of comics and graphic novels I previously read. I also experimented with texture, creating an organic spotted gradient using different photoshop brushes available to me. I thoroughly like this matte painting, and I believe it's one of the strongest despite its simplicity.
