'A long hard look at psycho' by Raymond Durgant
I have chosen to base my contexts essay on the 1960's film psycho. After watching the film for the first time, I made some initial notes naively, not noticing much about the watch. I then began looking into authors and academics who have already discussed the book, and decided to read Raymond's analytical novel on the film, in order to gain a good foundation of knowledge on interpretations of the film, and reasons for its cult pedestal. I translated my post-it note annotations into a document of my personal interests that Raymond mentions in his book. From here, I would like to narrow down a topic to focus on for my own essay; adapting and developing on some of his points and using additional research to enhance my writing.
