Post Produced SFX And Annotations

Toothpicks On Guitar + Echo: The echo creates an aerodynamic sound. When partnered with other sounds, I think you could loose the 'its a guitar' connotation, and it would just be a cool, prickly noise.

Extractor Fan + Underwater Speech + 'Dark Lord' Pitch Shifter: The result of some extensive exploration with Adobe Audition. I think the outcome is ominous and morbid, a little chilling.

Jar of Nutmeg + Echo + Reverb: The original sound was niche to begin with. The addition of effects is disorienting and confusing.

Extractor Fan + Chorus + Reverb + Equaliser: The 'buzzing' reminds be of a beetle. The use of sound editing has turned this into an organic sound, even though it started as artificial.

Boiler Sound + Hyper Space Pre-set: The sound's fluctuating pitch creates a sense of 'its alive'. It sounds like a sci-fi creature rather than a piece of machinery.

Car Keys + Pitch Shifter: The post-produced sound within the finalised soundscape is different to this; I stretched out the track to record for this post and it 'stretched' the effect, making it even more distorted and unusual.

Card Scanner + Dynamics + Distortion + Flanger: A noise you would expect to hear after being hit on the head. Medical, unnerving, unconscious.

Pot Of Toothpicks + Distortion + Compressor + Delay: Something you'd expect in a horror game. I'm really pleased with the ridiculous static charge of this sound, a great accent noise for a soundscape.

Toothpicks + Reverb + Flanger: The reverb makes the sound 'float' from one ear to the other, the sound has lost its sense of gravity. Maybe it's swimming through water instead.

Wind Through Vent + Auto gate Dynamics: This has lost all links to its original state. It no longer sounds like gusts of wind, but floorboards? A box of beads? Unusual is good for this project, that's what I was aiming for.

Wind through Vent + Lowered Pitch: By changing the pitch alone, the sound becomes filled with suspense. Pitch can impressively control the genre of a sound.
